Landslide 14.6 is now available for download on the Spirent customer support website. New applications like M2M and IoT are driving massive scale increases in connected devices. In response NEMs and Carriers are deploying Mobile Core, Wi-Fi Core and Diameter networks capable of faster connections and higher scale. At the edge of the network, edge compute and disaggregation of network functions are creating clouds of smaller elements. To address these divergent trends Spirent’s Landslide team is launching 2 new platforms; the Landslide C100-M2, the highest scale and performance test server and the E10, the smallest form factor platform in the Landslide line. The 14.6 release also includes new features and upgrades for testing: Mobile Core, Wi-Fi Roaming, Diameter, IMS, Charging, IMS, Voice over Everything (3G, LTE, Wi-Fi), Video (Calling & eMBMS), Location Services, IoT/M2M, Mobile Routers, Virtual and more.
Landslide C100-M2 The Spirent Landslide C100-M2 is the highest performance Landslide Test Server. Combining powerful processors and hardware accelerators the C100-M2 enables a 4X increase in emulation scale and a 2X increase in connection rates over its predecessor.
Landslide E10 The Landslide E10 is a small form factor test platform designed for benchtop, desktop and remote testing. While it may be small in size it has the power to support the traditional Landslide lab test application, as well as the Landslide EDGE for live network testing. Capable of working standalone or as part of a larger system the E10 enables many new applications for Landslide from end-to-end active testing in the live network to Wi-Fi venue testing to desktop R&D testing .
Wi-Fi Combining Landslide’s powerful Wi-Fi controller and RF testing capabilities with the new E10 platform enables over-the-air, synchronized and spatially diverse Wi-Fi RF clients for multi-AP and Access Controller testing scenarios.
Voice, Video, Messaging & IMS 14.6 is the 10th release for Voice & IMS on Landslide. For VoLTE this release adds support for configurable call delays and real-time text. Landslide has now been extended to test the SMS messaging network with SMS-SC test and emulation in the new SMS Network Node test case. In the more traditional voice testing 14.6 adds the G.729 codec.
