Spirent Landslide 17.0 Release Available For Download

Description

Landslide 17.0 is now available for download on the Spirent customer support website.

With the release of the latest 3GPP specifications in June 2018, carriers and NEMs are now able to develop standardized versions of the protocols and interfaces to define the native 5G core network. To help them navigate these difficult initial steps, Landslide 17.0 introduces the first set of 'True 5G' (5G Radio + 5G Core) test cases. Landslide emulates millions of UEs and thousands of gNBs connecting via the N1, N2 and N3 interfaces, thus allowing users to design and validate the functionality, performance and dynamic scalability of this True 5G network. Additionally, Landslide 17.0 emulates key components of the 5G core network itself - the AMF, SMF and UPF. These new 5G node emulators can connect to real 5G RAN and help bridge the gap between 5G NSA concepts and True 5G. Finally, Landslide 17.0 expands the features supported in other key areas such as VoLTE/IMS, IPSec testing and real-world traffic emulation.

5G Evolution
R17.0 is the first Landslide release with True 5G core test cases. The use cases include:
  • Testing a full 5G core (AMF, SMF, UPF) by emulating 5G UEs and gNBs.
  • Testing the 5G control plane only (AMF+SMF)
  • Emulating the full 5G core (AMF, SMF, UPF)
  • Emulating the 5G control plane (AMF+SMF)
  • Emulating the 5G data plane (UPF)
5G NSA Enhancements
17.0 continues enhancing Landslide's 5G NSA testing capabilities by adding new uses cases including:
  • 5G NSA to 3G mobility
  • 5G NSA to 5G NSA mobility
  • 5G NSA inter-working with CUPS
Moreover, Landslide 5G NSA now supports Fireball high performance data for increased realism in the 5G user plane.
High Performance IPSec Hardware Accelerator
17.0 introduces the new L-ACC-008 high performance IPSec hardware accelerator card. This card, which doubles the performance of its predecessor, delivers exceptional scale in the number of IPSec tunnels, activation rates and encrypted throughput.
VoLTE/IMS
Landslide continues its expansion in direct IMS/Voice over IP testing, while maintaining the unparalleled voice and video over LTE testing capabilities. In this respect, Landslide 17.0 introduces:
  • Phase-II of the MCPTT testing and emulation feature set
  • Ability to completely isolate I/S-CSCF and its interface for function benchmarking
Real World Application Traffic
Frequently used application protocols such as Google's QUIC and IoT MCQTT are now supported by Landside.
