Press Release: Spirent Demonstrates the World’s Highest Density 400/200/100/50GbE Test System at OFC 2018

Description
400G Ethernet design and development supported by Spirent’s verification of line-rate forwarding and multi-service stacking functionality and performance

Calabasas, March 13, 2018 – Spirent Communications plc (LSE:SPT), the industry leader in Ethernet test and measurement, announced today that the world’s highest density 400/200/100/50GbE test system will be demonstrated at OFC 2018 in San Diego.

At Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference & Exhibition, Spirent will showcase the latest release of its 2-Port Quad Speed 400/200/100/50GbE test module, available with either Native QSFP-DD, OSFP or CFP8 form factor support. This test module has achieved Finalist status in the prestigious 2018 Lightwave Innovation Reviews program, with winners in each category being announced during a reception at OFC 2018 on March 14.

Spirent’s 400GbE test platform is a complete solution used to perform validation and performance in the design and development of 400G Ethernet, and it has been developed to address today’s IEEE and Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) standards as they evolve. These test modules let users accurately emulate real-world TCP/UDP traffic, scaling up to millions of users and connections. Spirent will also be demonstrating the world’s highest density native QSFP28 quint-speed series of test modules, supporting 100/50/40/25/10GbE from a single interface.

“It’s an exciting time as Ethernet speeds continue to evolve, and more of our customers continue to develop solutions to meet future network requirements. Spirent’s test capability makes us the right partner for companies racing to bring their leading-edge network technologies to market first.” said Abhitesh Kastuar, General Manager of Spirent’s Cloud and IP Business Unit. “We have been working with all the major equipment vendors to bring to market new chip sets from 1G through 100G, so they can design and develop next generation 400G switch chips, enabling vendors of networking and services to be deployed faster and more reliably.”

Spirent will partner with the Ethernet Alliance at OFC 2018 in several interactive demonstrations offering an advance look at the application-driven future of enterprise, data center, and service provider networking. Spirent DX3 2-Port Quad Speed 400/200/100/50GbE test modules will help highlight the versatility in connectivity using various medium dependent interface (MDI) types between multiple vendors over copper and optical interconnects. Spirent MX3 series QSFP28 quint-speed test modules supporting 100/50/40/25/10GbE will also be on display at the Ethernet Alliance at OFC 2018.

The High-Speed Ethernet (HSE) market is continuously evolving due to the growth in bandwidth needs. Spirent provides next-generation equipment so major chip set manufacturers, network equipment manufacturers, and service providers can be ready for the next wave of speeds to meet the demands of their customers.
