Spirent Landslide 18.4 Release Available For Download

Landslide 18.4 is now available for download on the Spirent customer support website.

NEMs and Carriers continue their fast track towards deploying the first commercial 5G SA network and the correct adoption of existing and new services over this network becomes critical. Release 18.4 continues Landslide's strategic feature set alignment. In this release, the Service Based Architecture testcases are upgraded to 3GPP R15 June 2019 specifications version.  A new Message Editor is added to the N11 interface thus expanding the testing capabilities of this critical interface. Further enhancements for 'True 5G' testing include: Sessions and Service Continuity (SSC) Mode 2, Slice Discontinuity during Xn Handover, UPF load balancing and support for External Data.
 
Other key areas of mobile network testing have also been enhanced: Landslide 18.4 adds support for Security Gateway failover on the S1-U interface, Monitor Mode in WiFi Offload Nodal (RF emulation) and the ability to change the codec type during a SIP call.

True 5G Test Cases
R18.4 is the ninth Landslide release with True 5G (SA) Core test cases. New use cases include: 
  • R15 June 2019 spec update for Service Based Nodal & Node
  • UPF load balancing
  • Sessions and Services Continuity (SSC) Mode 2
  • Slice discontinuity during Xn handover
  • Registration Procedure after Xn handover
  • External Data and External Apps
  • Support for Registration Reject
  • SBI Message Editor support for the N11 interface
  • Session Loading Test Activity added to UPF Nodal
Additional functionality will be added continuously over the next few releases.
 
VoNR/VoLTE/IMS
Landslide continues its expansion in IMS/Voice over New Radio testing, while maintaining the unparalleled voice and video over LTE testing capabilities. Landslide 18.4 introduces:
  • eMBMS - GC1 Interface for MCPTT
  • Support two codec types during SIP call, the call switches from one codec to the other after receiving SIP Update from IMS core
4G/4.5G Core Enhancements
Landslide 18.4 upgrades its 4G Core testing capabilities with these new use cases:
  • Fireball support for TOS and TTL/DSCP static values
  • Ability to Reattach When Paging Using IMSI
  • Security Gateway failover on the S1-U interface
  • Monitor Mode available in WiFi Offload GW Nodal (RF Emulation)
  • 5G NSA mobility where UE attaches on 4G and moves to 5G cell
  • EAP only authentication for SWu IPsec in LTE to WiFi inter-technology
