Announcing Spirent VisionWorks Release 21.1

Description
VisionWorks Release:

5G, Automation and Analytics

As the industry continues to fast-track 5G SA, VisionWorks continues to enhance 5G SA and NSA functionality to empower our customers to roll out and monitor 5G networks with confidence. VisionWorks 21.1 enables 5G over-the-air data service assurance using tethered handsets. It adds test replication and fault isolation capabilities to allow troubleshooting across over-the-air and core networks.

VisionWorks 21.1 further enhances our network assurance test capabilities across the entire solution. The newly introduced features will help new and existing customers, as they evolve their network as part of their 5G strategy.

Release 21.1
Key New Features 5G SA Data Service Assurance: VisionWorks can measure 5G SA Data Service performance end-to-end, over-the-air using Android handsets tethered to the E10 Test Platform. Handsets detect technology switches from 5G SA to 5G NSA or LTE.

Simultaneous Advanced Data Tests: VisionWorks now supports multiple advanced data tests including those that require higher bandwidth such as Speedtest.

E5 Test Platform: VisionWorks 21.1 introduces the new E5 Test Platform, a smaller, hardened platform for 4G and 5G over-the-air testing.

Enhanced Ookla Speedtest: VisionWorks now supports Ookla Speedtest SDKTM, allowing over-the-air test results from the VisionWorks Device Test Agent (DTA) mobile app to utilize native Android functions and deliver test results in the Speedtest app.

Signature Alerts Comparing OTA to Core: VisionWorks can now create signature alerts comparing performance across multiple monitored entities. The performance can be compared between over-the-air and core tests or between two points within the core network.

Increased Test Granularity: The 7500 Series Test Platforms have been enhanced to support 1 Frame per Second (FPS) rates for both TWAMP and ping performance monitoring tests.

Advanced Mesh Use Case: The advanced Mesh Use Case supports partially or fully meshed test topologies, for example, in a core network where the performance between all nodes is critical, driving the need to monitor KPIs such as latency or packet loss on an ongoing basis.

SD-WAN Application Flows: VisionWorks can now distinguish between applications flows that are routed across different paths based on policy. In SD-WAN environments, TWAMP Tests will provide performance insights in context of a specific application’s route and policy.

User-Defined Reporting: Users can now generate their own custom reports with the newly enhanced UDR Module, providing more granular reports, and the ability to distinguish between private and public reports. Users can feed external systems and reduce the need for custom scripting to pull data out of VisionWorks.
