What does the OVEN message on the GNSS simulator LCD screen mean?

Answer

This article applies to the following simulator models:-

  • STR4750 / 4760 / 4780 / 4790
  • GSS7700 / 7730 / 7735 / 7800 / 7900
  • GSS8000

The OVEN message is displayed if one or more of the IF module(s) is yet to reach optimum operating temperature. The word OVEN is followed by an integer number indicating which IF module, for which RF path, is yet to reach optimum operating temperature

The message eventually disappears, indicating that the module has reached optimum temperature. It can persist for up to 10-15 minutes depending on the ambient room temperature and if the simulator has not been turned on for some time. The simulator may still be run whilst this message is displayed but it is advised not to perform any phase calibration.

If the message does not disappear please contact Spirent Applications Support for further advice
