Abacus: My system crashes after a unplanned power outage. What can I do?

Answer

Like other electronic devices, Abacus software may get corrupted when the power supply is disrupted abruptly.  This is particularly true when Abacus is undergoing major software change like firmware upgrade.  The best way is to avoid the occurrence of such unexpected power outage by planning ahead, or using UIPS.  If users do encounter this situation, and see system behaving abnormally after power outage, they may perform an emergency system recovery to see if it helps. With emergency recovery, the system will over-write its existing firmware and clean up the buffers.  Most of the times this will bring the system back to normal working.  If this doesn't help, then users have to approach the Spirent Technical Support to arrange an RMA.
