Unable to connect to the Spirent TestCenter Chassis using Spirent Test Expert due to an error “unable to connect to the Spirent TestCenter Equipment. Spirent TestCenter Library file not found”
Answer
This is due to the STC_HOME environment variable set to older version of Spirent TestCenter Application
The error could occur even after setting the STE preferences with right path. STC_HOME environmental variable is needed to be changed to point the current Spirent Test Center Application.

How to set the STC_HOME Environmental Variable:
Windows XP

Right Click on My computer -> Properties

Environmental Variables
4.
System Variables Double Click STC_HOME
5.
Change the Spirent TestCenter path
Windows 7
1.
Right Click on My computer -> Properties
2.
Advanced system settings
3.
Environmental variables
4.
System Variables -> path
5.
Make sure path has the Spirent TestCenter application installation path
Spirent Test Expert
1.
System menu -> Windows -> Preferences
2.
Spirent TestCenter -> set the appropriate Spirent TestCenter installation path
3.
TCL -> leave the default Tcl path
4.
Spirent Avalanche -> set the Avalanche installation path
