How to share, commit, Import/Export a project through CVS in iTest?

Answer

Be sure to install the CVS server in your environment.

Sharing a project:

In the iTest Favorites view or the iTest Explorer, select the project, right-click, and then click Team > Share Project.

In the Share Project wizard, select CVS and click Next.

On the Enter Repository Location Information page, specify the Host, Repository Path, Username and Password. Click Next.

On the Enter Module Name page, select Use project name as module name and click Next. You wait for a moment while the system shares the project.

The Share Project Resources page lists the files that will be added into Repository. Click Next.

On the Commit page, type an appropriate comment and then click Finish.

The system presents a progress page. After committing, the project name includes a source control indicator and individual files include version numbers:

If you change anything in a file under source control, it is flagged with a change symbol (>).

To commit a file:

In the iTest Favorites view or the iTest Explorer, select the file, right-click, and then click Team > Commit.

In the Commit Files wizard, type a comment and click Finish.

After the file is committed, the change symbol no longer appears.

Exporting the project to a Project Set File (PSF):

In iTest, click File > Export.

In the Team group, select Team Project Set and then click Next.

On the Export page, select the project to export and then click Next.

Specify where to export to (typically path and filename) and then click Finish.

The project is exported to the specified location.

Importing a Project Set File (PSF):

In iTest, click File > Import.

In the Team group, select Team Project Set and then click Next.

Browse to the project that you want to import and then click Next.

Specify the Username and Password and click OK.

The progress bar displays progress and while the project is successfully imported.

The imported project is now in the workspace, as shown in the iTest Explorer.
