Spirent TestCenter: I added a connection to the 40G Spirent port. But both the port and the 40G interface on the router are down. How can I bring this connection up?

STC version 4.20 and 4.22

Answer

First, the good news is this issue has been fixed in 4.24. The reason for the problem is STC could not do auto-detect on some CFP interfaces in 4.20/4.22. You have to manually set the CFP interface type. To do this, click on the 40G port, and then go to the tab "40/100 gig Advanced". On the portion "de-emphasis and main tap swing", select manual mode and select correct CFP type.
