iTest: How to trigger iTest test execution with instant messages.

Answer

Using iTest we can trigger test/test suite run with an Instant messages.

For Example :

Assume that a testcase was created in iTest to upgrade a device. We can upgrade that device by sending an Instant message from other location to iTest.

We can use the XMPP/Chat session type to achieve this scenario:

  1. Initially send Instant message to a particular user or account (either using a public XMPP server like Google Chat, or a private one).
  2. User can respond back with and the test case can continue, terminate, or take other action based on the response from the user.
