iTest: How to create Custom Queries for a Response Map?

Environment/Versions

iTest

Answer
  • We can create custom queries when we have complicated responses where pieces of information need to be gained based on other pieces of information. Real problem is the information may not be located in the same place in the response every time.

  • A custom query is a robust method for gaining access to specific information given specific criteria. Since the custom query is associated with a response map, maintenance is minimal when future changes are necessary to stay aligned with changing technology.

  • Create custom queries instead of using the test steps to determine the specified data. For example, do not use "for" loops and "If/then/else" statements to find specific data in a response.

Attached is a short Video Demonstrating the procedure of creatiing Custom Queries.
