Spirent TestCenter: Does the STCv Port need to maintain constant connectivity to the Virtual Controller?

Answer
  • There is a periodic heartbeat (30s). You can’t take away connectivity to the license server once the endpoint is up.
  • If communication between the VM and the license server is cut abnormally the port license will timeout after 15 minutes.
  • Also note there must be ping capability between the VM and license server. When a VM is brought up, it tests connectivity to the license server with a ping.
