iTest: Not able to create Pcap files under C:\ when executing sequencer steps

Symptoms:

  • While executing STC sequencer steps from iTest with xml configuration and if there is a step to save the captured packets i.e. save capture data path (C:\) in it, some times we could observe that the pcap files will not get generated.
Answer

To resolve this issue we could follow the either of the steps:

  • 1. Enable permissions to create files under C: drive.
  • 2. Change the location to some other place i.e. by creating a folder under C: drive and we need to modify the path for the sequencer step under xml configuration by using STC application and then use the modified xml in iTest.

Note: This issue will happen when there is no permission to create the files under 'C:' drive. i.e. Operating system is preventing the user/application to create any files under 'C:' drive directly.
