Butler Matrix: When connecting the simulator output to the Input 0 is there any phase difference from original simulator output?

Environment/Versions
  • Butler Matrix
Answer

Yes

  • You should expect to still see a small phase shift even when using Input 0
    • But it will be within the tolerances defined on the product specification for the Butler Matrix.
  • The important aspect of using the Butler Matrix is the phase DIFFERENCE between the outputs, for a chosen input (± the phase accuracy given in the product spec).

Spec for Phase Accuracy:-

  • 1575.42 MHz
    • RSS = +/- 7deg
    • Worst Case = +/- 15deg
  • 1 to 2 GHz
    • RSS = +10 deg
    • Worst Case = +/- 20deg
  • 1227.60 MHz
    • RSS = +/- 10deg
