STCLive Probe: Install new 7531 module and connected the Gige Test Ports to Switch. Why are the ports bouncing?

STCLive Probe 7502 with 7531: All versions.

 

Answer

Possible issues are:

  • The link is set incorrectly.  Change setting from AUTO to 1000/FULL.  
    • To see current setting:
      RTRV-ATTR-LINK:::CTAG:
    • To change setting to 1000/FULL.
      ACT-USER::SUPER:CTAG::SUPER;
      ED-ATTR-LINK:::CTAG::BOTH,1000,FULL:BOTH,1000,FULL;
      INIT-SYS:::CATG::4;
  • The cable is bad between the Probe and the Switch.
  • Bad SFP at the Probe or at the Switch
  • Incorrect setting on the Switch.

Note: The LINK setting of 1000/FULL only applies to 7531.
