TTworkbench: What is the reason of the error message 'Workspace is in use'?

TTworkbench 32/64 Bit, Microsoft Windows/Linux
Answer
The workspace is blocked or used from another TTworkbench instance.
Please verify that no TTworkbench instance is running and using this workspace.
If no other instance is running please delete the /.metadata/.lock file (or \.metadata\.lock) in your workspace directory to unlock it.
