Answer

Spirent Communications is aware of recent vulnerability disclosures, known as Meltdown and Spectre, that could affect Intel, AMD and ARM-based CPU architectures.  Our initial review of the vulnerabilities concludes that these pose no additional risk to the Spirent products referred to below.  To exploit these vulnerabilities, an attacker must be able to execute custom code on an affected device.  The Spirent products referred to below do not allow customers to run custom code and hence are not vulnerable.

There are no immediate plans to release a software update in response to these issues.  The security and stability of our products is a top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves, and to evaluate patching options available from our partner vendors as they become available.
