Spirent TestCenter Virtual ESXi - Why does the STCv port admin option "portgroupsize" stay at 1 when I add additional network test ports with vSphere.

This issue has been seen with ESXi vSphere versions 6.5 & 6.7, when adding additional network test ports to a Spirent TestCenter VM.

Answer

If the user adds additional "network" port to the Spirent TestCenter VM, by default the "Adapter Type" is "Flexible". not "VMXNET3" which is required. The user must expand the "New Network" field, and select "VMXNET3" for the "Adapter Type".

Once the wrong "Adapter Type" has been saved, the new "Network Adapter X" must be deleted and added again to correct the problem.
