Environment/Versions
Spirent TestCenter
Answer
In one physical port you can create device blocks containing multiple devices or multiple devices.
Below you will find the common steps for any of the options mentioned before:
Open Spirent Center Application
Reserve at least 1 port.
Click on All Devices and then on the Add button.
Check the port on which you will create the device block at the Select Ports screen.
Select the upper layer and lower layer encapsulation at the Select Encapsulation screen.
If your going to configure device blocks containing multiple devices:
At the Configure Devices screen configure how many devices you will add on the device block and set the Device block mode as One network per block, multiple devices per network.
Set the Layer 2 and Layer 3 configuration.
If your going to configure multiple devices per port:
At the Configure Devices screen configure how many devices you will add to the configuration and set the Device block mode as One network per block, multiple devices per network.
Set the Layer 2 and Layer 3 configuration.
After creating the devices, you will need to create the stream blocks.
Go to All Streamblocks and hit the
Add…
button.
At the Ports screen you can select the ports on which you will create the stream blocks.
At the Endpoints screen you can select source and destination devices for the stream blocks.
If you created a device with multiple devices, the stream block will include every device on the device block as source and/or destination.
If you created different devices, you can select which will be de source device and which will be the destination one.
NOTE:
Don't forget to click on the Add button, this will add the stream blocks into the Pairs text box, and also select if your traffic flow will be unidirectional or bidirectional.
