Spirent TestCenter: How can I configure OFDMA and MU-MIMO on Spirent TestCenter?
Environment/Versions
Spirent TestCenter.
WiFi emulated clients.
802.11ax.
MU-MIMO
Answer
OFDMA testing:
Reserve four
5G
ports.
Switch the chassis WiFi ports to the
3-Radio
profile (thus, each NIC has two 5G ports).
Create one 802.11 emulated device on each port.
Enable the OFDMA option.
Configure short frame (128bytes) downstream traffic from ethernet and set each stream's traffic load 100Mbps.
Make sure all four ports can see AP through OTA or RF combiners.
At this point, we are not sure whether if the association request contains any OFDMA signaling, not sure if OFDMA is signaled through the control plane packets though, but If you want to test whether OFDMA is working or not, be aware you can use some of the following STC OFDMA views/counters shown below:
MU-MIMO testing: (for example 1x1 + 1x1)
Reserve two ports and configure each port with 1x1 (first SMA on each port) – please note that the first SMA for each port is different make sure it’s cabled to AP or OTA is much easier.
Enable DL MU-MIMO.
Configure downstream traffic from AP, and each stream configure with 1518bytes and 600Mbps.
IMPORTANT:
You can only configure one device per port to test
OFDMA/MU-MIMO
.
