Environment/Versions
  • Spirent TestCenter.
  • TCP Header.
  • RFC2544.
Answer
Please follow the steps below to include TCP headers in an RFC2544 test.
  • Go to All Stream Blocks on the left menu and hit the Add button.
  • Configure the Tx and Rx devices and set the traffic to be Bidirectional.
  • In the Frame screen, go to Add Header(s)… and select TCP.  You can find it under Category: IP.
  • You can configure the TCP header values to match your test case.
  • If you start traffic, the packets will include the TCP information you configured before.  Please refer to the snapshot below.
Follow the steps below to include these stream blocks in the RFC2544 traffic.
  • When you get to the Configure Traffic window of the RFC2544 wizard, select the Use existing stream blocks or create new stream blocks for the test option and enable the Active option for both stream blocks.
  • You should change the minimum frame size in the Throughput Parameters screen.  The Default value is 64 but due to the TCP header, it should be at least 82.
