I have lost my VMS password

For customers with an STR2760 or STR4760/4780 GPS simulator controlled by a VMS Workstation.

If you have access to the GPSSIM account, the SYSTEM password can be reset by the following procedure:

  1. Log In to the GPSSIM account and open a DEC Term.
  2. Enter the following commands:
    SET DEF SYS$SYSTEM
    $ SET PROC/PRIV=ALL
    $ RUN AUTHORIZE
    UAF>MOD SYSTEM/PASS=YOURPASSWORD
    UAF>EXIT

This has now changed the SYSTEM password to the values you entered above, denoted by YOURPASSWORD. If you do not have access to the GPSSIM account, contact Spirent Applications Support for advice on your specific Workstation.
