Positioning Application: When I launch PosApp it tells me my licence is not valid for the installed version of PosApp

Environment/Versions
  • PosApp / SimGEN / REPLAY / REPLAYplus
  • All version after, and including, V3.00

Answer

  • The above message is displayed when starting PosApp, indicating that the build date of the installed version of PosApp is not compatible with the expiry date of your licence. The following reasons may apply:-
  1. Your GNSS simulator system has a valid support agreement but you have not yet received your updated PosApp licence file.
        - Provide the serial number of the simulator you are using to the Spirent Global Services team
  2. You were eligible to receive the latest version of PosApp as part of a bug fix, but your GNSS simulator system support agreement has expired, i.e. the expiry date of your current licence has passed
        - Send a copy of your current "lservrc.txt" licence file (found in the PosApp directory = C:\Program Files\Spirent Communications\Positioning Application)  to Spirent Global Services
  3. You have several Spirent GNSS simulator systems, one or more still have a valid support agreement but one or more other systems do not. The system(s) with a valid support agreement has permitted you to download the new version of PosApp from our support website, but you have tried to install on to the system(s) that do not have a valid support agreement
        - You will need to be provided a download to go back to your previous PosApp version. Please provide simulator serial number and PosApp version information to the Spirent Global Services team
  4. You have obtained a copy of PosApp by some other means and none of your GNSS simulator systems have a valid support agreement
        - You will need to be provided a download to go back to your previous PosApp version. Please provide simulator serial number and PosApp version information to the Spirent Global Support team
  5. The current "lservrc.txt" licence file (found in the PosApp directory = C:\Program Files\Spirent Communications\Positioning Application) has somehow become corrupted and does not contain the correct expiry date details
        - Open the "lservrc.txt" file and compare it to the original licence file provided by Spirent. Do they show the same expiry date information?
        - If in doubt send a copy of your "lservrc.txt" licence file to Spirent Global Services team which they can then compare with the latest version of your licence on their records, for confirmation.
