Spirent TestCenter: How do I configure Latency, Jitter, Inter-arrival Time, Frame Length, Sequence Run Length, and Sequence Diff check Histogram Buckets in TestCenter?

Answer

I note the Latency bucket values are displayed in us and Histogram Buckets are in are configured in multiples of 10 ns, so “10” equals 100 ns.
(new update: 4.00 and above the bucket size time units can be set to ns, us, ms and sec.)

I explain that Bucket sizes and Limits are pretty much interdependent.

I ran new test and provide you example.

I ran back to back test through Anue impairment with 10 us delay and results fell into default Predefined Mode: Custom bucket 10 using the following Bucket Sizes.

(2+4+8+16+32+64+128+256+512 = 1022 units) Bucket X 10 ns per unit = 10220 ns = 10.22 us) to 2046 = 20.46 us.

I then narrowed down to between 1022 units (10.22 us) and 1122 units (1122 X 10 = 11.22 us) by starting at Bucket Size 1022 and incrementing the Bucket Size by 100 per Bucket.

I then narrowed down to between 1092 units (10.92 us) and 1122 units (11.02 us), by starting at Bucket Size 1022 and incrementing the Bucket Size by 10 per Bucket

I finally narrowed down to six Buckets between 1096 units (10.96 us) and 1097 units (10.97 us), 1097 units (10.97 us) and 1098 units (10.98 us), 1098 units (10.98 us) and 1099 units (10.99 us), 1099 units (10.99 us) and 1100 units (11.00 us), 1100 units (11.00 us) and 1101 units (11.01 us), and 1100 units (11.01 us) and 1102 units (11.02 us) by starting at Bucket Size 1092 and incrementing the Bucket Size by 1 per Bucket
