Positioning Application: When I start a scenario why do I get "Error: 'The application will NOT terminate a scenario on detecting a Fatal BITE Error! (as set in Message Reporting Option)'"?

Environment/Versions
  • PosApp (SimGEN / SimREPLAYplus / SimREPLAY)
  • Running scenarios in 'hardware' mode, i.e. intending to control a GNSS simulator, the following pop-up message is displayed

Answer

This is caused by a setting in the Options menu. To prevent this message appearing you can do one of two things:-

  1. Go to menu [Options-->Message Reporting]
  2. If you DO want PosApp to terminate the scenario on detecting a Fatal BITE error reported by the simulator hardware, then untick "Disable halt on fatal hardware BITE errors"
        OR
  3. If you DO NOT want PosApp to terminate the scenario on detecting a Fatal BITE error reported by the simulator hardware, then tick "Disable message popups"

NOTES:
    a) PosApp v4-00 and v4-01 (including all SR releases of these versions) had this menu option default to 'on' / 'ticked', which was unintended
    b) From PosApp v4-02 onwards the default state of this menu option was set back to the intended value, i.e. 'off' / 'unticked'
