Umetrix Data: Umetrix Data PC Fails to Initialize with Error "Datum Configuration Error: Configuration system failed to initialize."

  • Issue
    • Umetrix Data PC fails to open
    • Error message displayed:  “Datum Configuration Error:  Configuration system failed to initialize.  Please contact support.”
    • Log shows “:\Users\temp\AppData\Local\Metrico_Wireless,_Inc.\Datum.exe_Url_xgitxtxeoqb14zjtx1qpbfun4zo5posj\2.7.6.14\user.config) ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing.”    (or similar)
    • The configuration file has been corrupted.
  • Solution
    • Browse to: C:\Users\temp\AppData\Local\Metrico_Wireless,_Inc.\
    • Delete this directory:  Datum.exe_Url_xgitxtxeoqb14zjtx1qpbfun4zo5posj\2.7.6.14\ (or similar)
    • Reboot the PC
    • The next time you reopen Umetrix Data PC, you will be prompted to complete the registration screen (including Activation Code) from scratch.
