iTest: How to configure iTest License Server?

WINDOWS:

  • Download the Spirent Server files from http://support.spirent.com files to your machine.
  • Extract the zipped directory to any location in the machine.
  • Now open "lmtools.exe" (or download from https://www.globes.com/support/fnp_utilities_download.htm ).
  • After opening the window, go on system setting and check your server IP address and Ethernet address.
  • Go to Config Services Tab:
    • Service Name: Add a name as "Spirentd". Path to lmgrd.exe file: Browse to the lmgrd.exe file which we saved at Step 1 above.

    • Path to License file: Browse to the 'Consolidate License File' which is saved in local machine (It is preferred to place the License File in the same directory where License Server Files are).

    • Path to Debug Log file: Create an empty notepad/WordPad under 'License Server Files' and browse it to this field.

  • After doing this click on save service.
  • Now go on Service/License File and select service name "spirentd" which you have created before.
  • Go to Start/Stop/Reread tab and click on Start Service

Starting the license server using command prompt:

  • Open command prompt and go to the directory where the License Server Files are placed.
  • Use lmgrd -c <license file> -l <log file name>
  • To verify that the license server daemon is running you can look at the output of the following command:
    lmutil lmstat -a -c <license file name>
  • Stop the license server daemon with the command:
    lmutil lmdown -c <license file name>

LINUX:

  • Download the Spirent Server files from http://support.spirent.com files to your machine
  • Extract the zipped directory to any location in the machine.
  • Copy the 'Consolidate License File' in to the folder.
  • Open the terminal and go the folder where License Server files are saved.
  • Use the command "lmgrd -c <license file name> -l <log fie name>" or "./lmgrd -c <license file name>"
  • Open iTest and verify the licenses.
  • To stop the running licensing server use "./lmutil lmdown -c <license file name>
