iTest: Why iTest captures an up arrow instead of actual CLI command?

Environment/Versions

iTest

Answer

While capturing any steps in CLI sessions like Telnet:

  • We can recall any command typed earlier by hitting an up arrow.

  • But iTest, instead of capturing the exact command (like show arp is below example), captures an ESC (escape) character "[char ESC]\[A".

  • This issue can be caused, when, we record and add the ESC character under Break option in iTest Session Properties.

  • To fix this issue, we need to delete the command break character [char ESC], and deleting it won't affect any other executions.
