      • Finisar - FTLC1154RDPL
      • Finisar - FTLC1151RDPL2
  • Case 2 - Module: MX3-100GQ-T2  LR4 / AN-OFF / FEC-OFF)
    • Speed 100 G
    • STC version: 5.11
    • LR4 Transceivers
      • Finisar - FTLC1154RDPL
  • Case 3 - Module MX3-100GQ-T2  (SR4)
    • Speed 25G
    • STC version: 5.29
    • SR4 Transceivers
      • Avago - AFBR-89CDDZ-CS1 /AFBR-89CDDZ-CS1
      • Avago- SFBR-89CDDZ-CS5
Answer
  • Case 1 - FX3-QSFP28-4
    • Cause: Auto-detect is causing FCS to appear as soon as traffic stream starts in LR4 / AN-OFF / FEC-OFF
    • Solution 1: change to Manual - Optical
      • Go to Port > Advanced
      • Under De-emphasis and Main tap swing
      • Change to Manual
      • Change to Optical
    • Solution 2: change emphasis to 0/8/0
      • Go to Port > Advanced
      • Under De-emphasis and Main tap swing
      • Change to Advanced
        • Pre = 0, Post = 0, Main = 8
  • Case 2 - MX3-100GQ-T2
    • Cause: Output Amplitude from TestCenter is low.
    • Solution: Set hwmgrd to configure these optics with Rx Output Amplitude Control = 0x2 for all lanes.
      • This required a patch at the time (v5.11)
        • This has also been implemented into v5.15
      • Emphasis setting is set to Auto-Detect
        •  Auto-Detect set the values to:
          • Pre = 0, Post = 10, Main =8
  • Case 3 - MX3-100GQ-T2
    • Cause: The Avago optics were not transmitting with the ideal settings. it’s possible that it was using the settings from a different Avago transceiver.
    • Solution: Changed the config to manual/optical on all Avago ports and left the setup running traffic over the weekend.
