Spirent TestCenter: If I create a GPRS Tunneling Protocol v1 header on STC, why can't I see the GTP header on the DUT?
Environment/Versions
Spirent TestCenter.
GPRS Tunneling Protocol v1 (GTP)
Answer
When you create a GTPv1 header, STC by default sets the message type value to 0; GTP describes that messages with type = 0 shall be treated as unknown messages and will not be forwarded.
The message type = 0 could be used for negative testing; this will allow you to know how the DUT handles these messages.
It's possible to modify the message type value at the frame tab when you create the GTP header to make it fit your test requirements.
