5G Evolution
At Spirent, we know delivering first to market technologies for 5G requires test tools that align with and even anticipate the release of new specifications.  We are the partner of choice for Vendors and Carriers developing and testing the next generation of wireless technologies. All Landslide releases in the coming years will be rich with new 5G features so watch this space!
In 16.6, our second 5G release, Landslide supports the 3GPP Options 3/3a/3x emulating UEs dual-connected to a 4G eNB and 5G gNB to test the 4G EPC. 5G use cases now include:
  • Mobility between dual-connected 5G+4G to 4G
  • Fixed Wireless Access with data rates of up to 10Gbps per UE
New 25G and 40G Interfaces
16.6 adds support for 2 new interface modules for the Landslide C100-M4 Test Server:
  • 2 port 25GbE SFP28 module
  • 2 port 40GbE QSFP+ module
Fireball High Performance Data
16.6 is the fifth release of Landslide’s new High-Performance Data mode which is available on both physical and virtual Test Servers. This release adds support for HTTPS. Want to combine voice and video RTP with HTTP or HTTPS data? And transmit it all simultaneously from the same UE? And transmit at high data rates? It’s no problem with Landslide!
New High Performance Virtual Test Server + Support for 25GbE and 40GbE NICs
The 16.6 release adds a new high performance Virtual Test Server that increases traffic throughput by 25%. This means a single Landslide VM now supports line rate on 2x25G interfaces.
Given that Landslide Virtual now exceeds the capacity of a 4x10G NIC we figured it would be a good time to add support for 2x25G and 2x40G port NICs.
IPsec
Mobile network densification with Small Cells and Wi-Fi plus the increased adoption of VoLTE are driving the demand for IPsec connections. The 16.6 release increases the number of IPsec connections 6X on the C100-M4 Test Server.
