Positioning Application: Do I have to create User Defined Data (UDD) manually?

  • No, you can use PosApp utilities to automate the creation of UDD files
  • This can be acheived with the following steps
  1. Enable 'Dump Navigation Data' in options --> General Options
  2. Run Scenario in turbo mode
  3. Go to tools --> General Utilities and select the relevant Nav Data Extract tool (i.e. GPS L1C/A or GLONASS)
  4. Select the path of the ".scn" (scenario) file that was used to dump the nav data
  5. Set 'Output Format' to 'UDD'
  6. The resulting file after converting data will be a '.txt' file
  7. Rename the file extension to be correct for its use as per the list below
    1. ".alm" if the file is to be used for GPS almanac data
    2. ".Eph" if the file is to be used for GPS 'Sat Orb' or 'Eph nav data' file
    3. ".alm_glo" if the file is to be used for GLONASS Alamanac Data
    4. ".eph_glo" if the file is to be used for GLONASS 'Sat Orb' or 'Eph nav data' file
