Spirent TestCenter: How can BGP emulate peering with DUT using loopback addresses?
Environment/Versions
Spirent TestCenter
Routing
BGP
Answer
BGP in Test Center by default will peer with the IP gateway using the Test Center interface address.
To emulate a BGP router and form a BGP adjacency with loopback addresses:
Go to the BGP tab in the TestCenter GUI
Set the "DUT IP address" field to be the loopback address of the DUT
Set the "BGP Session IP Address" to Router-ID.
The Router-ID will emulate the loopback address on the Test Center.
Please note that if you are doing EBGP there is no need on Test Center side to set the ebgp multihop as by default Test Center always set the BGP TTL to 255.
