Spirent TestCenter: Received an error "Connection to Server failed, client application must close"While opening Spirent TestCenter application from Remote Desktop.

If you encounter the "Connection to Server failed, client application must close" error during installation:


There are three "possible" options you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Uninstall Windows Live Messenger.  If you need it then wlidnsp.dll needs to be version 6.500.3165.0. After uninstalling Windows Live messenger, you must make sure that wlidnsp.dll is removed from the system (this dll isn’t removed with the uninstall). 
  2. Run the Spirent TestCenter executable with "loopback false".  Change the properties of the exe and after TestCenter.exe put “-loopbackSession false”. In order to do this, create a shortcut to TestCenter.exe and append “-loopbackSession false” to the end of the target section in the properties.
  3. Modify the stcbll.ini under [system] category, set enableStak=false (default is true)
