Spirent TestCenter: Windows GUI getting very slow or crashing with big config and IQ results

Symptoms
GUI getting unresponsive and even crashing when having a big config and IQ results
 
Environment
Spirent TestCenter
  • STC GUI
  • TestCenter IQ
Explanation/Resolution
This defect is manily due to the system limitations.
Following are suggestions:
  1. Move completely to either classic or IQ results, not both since this puts extra stress in the system
  2. Need system with SSD with at least 100 GB free space attached and with 32 GB RAM
  3. Add usePullMode=true flag under [enhancedResults] section in stcbll.ini file.
  4. Delete old test results or unused test results from TCIQ page.
  5. Disable anti-virus and close other TestCenter instances if running.
  6. If you do not need live test results and only need snapshot data, please unselect all counters from IQ settings.
  7. If you are using TCIQ reporting, disable classic results reporting by closing the classic results views in the STC UI.
  8. If configuration has routing protocols, try deleting all inactive routes and protocols.
