Description VisionWorks Release: 5G has introduced new business models, new opportunities, and new challenges. With this new dynamic, a distributed and cloud native architecture of a 5G mobile network means that assuring your business, assuring your network, and most importantly assuring you customers is top of mind as you begin to roll out new technology. There is also a very important caveat as multiple technologies must coexist to ensure service continuity, while new edge business needs are being explored. Underscoring it all, is the need for service assurance and always-on active testing. VisionWorks 21.4 enables 5G voice service assurance from OTA and the Core further enhances our network assurance test capabilities across the entire solution. It releases prototype use cases for network slice assurance and latency segmentation. The newly introduced features will help new and existing customers as they evolve their network as part of their 5G strategy.     Release 21.4 Key New Features 4G / 5G Interworking VisionWorks supports non-roaming, inter-technology 4G / 5G handover with N26 Interface. Handover is required to extend coverage and avoid congestion maintaining session/IP continuity for ongoing voice calls and data sessions. The interworking between 4G and 5G is supported through the N26 interface Facilitating the session management context transfer between technologies Supporting the required EPS fallback for voice calls requiring only a single registration. MNOs can now validate handover KPIs, test and troubleshoot inter-technology handovers with ease. Tethered DTA Operational Enhancements Several enhancements have been included in the tethered digital test agent which include: Watchdog Application Re-Enabling MTP/ADB Before Rebooting Enhanced Handset Setup with modified approach of retrieving Output Supporting SF20E device Mobile App – ability to disable accidental touch protection Supporting Temperature Threshold Control Supporting Brainstorm Package which enables power regulators control capabilities PDU poser can be controlled by Test Server KPI Segmentation Support: With UPD one way latency segmentation the user can now emulate user personas (using configurable UDP traffic) and measurement of one-way latency along with other metrics. The DTA App is also enhanced to support configurable UDP data test. Supported metrics that are reported include: avg, min, max, 90th percentile. E5 Automation Control: Automation control for the Modem is enhanced to control the execution of commands based on the outcome of previous commands rather than depending on a predetermined (estimated value). VoNR Testing and Validation with Tethered Handsets: 5G Voice service assurance use case has been enhanced to support basic VoNR call reliability KPIs for tethered handsets.
