Fueling this drive is new cloud-native technologies like 5G, whose components are highly disaggregated with independent release schedules and contents. Also driving the demand for test environment automation is the ongoing movement to remote working, consolidation, and the demands of being more efficient across geo-diverse engineering teams. The Velocity 9.0 release feeds this demand through major improvements usability, productivity, and new functionality in several key areas.   Release 9.0 Velocity New Features New Topology Editor: New two-dimensional visualization of nested resources accurately represents chassis/line card geometry and layout. Visualize parent and child resources in their natural, relative positions in the topology editor. Grid view in topology editor allows for easy alignment of resources on canvas.  Resource dimensions, fill, and border colors are now configurable with default values for accurate visualization. Sessions, automation actions, and status refresh functions are now menu options attached to each resource. Streamline Reservation and Topology Workflows: Simplified reservation and topology operations. View and edit topology from within a reservation using consistent automation controls. Run automation within a reservation with Velocity’s native automation module, exposing full control, customization, and consistent user experience. Python Debugging: Rapidly create, refactor, and debug Python automation in Velocity using iTest as automation agent. Validate drivers, tasks, and test cases written in Python executing in Velocity using the iTest debugger. Step through python automation tasks line-by-line, monitor variables and responses quickly develop and enrich Velocity automation written in Python. Velocity iTest New Features Appium Capture/Replay: Added functionality in Appium session to capture automation events during interactive session. Rapidly create automated tests on mobile phones by capturing the application testing workflow and converting actions to script. SFTP File Transfer: Securely transfer files within the iTest File Session. Seamlessly perform secure file operations across multiple platforms including macOS, Windows, Linux, and Docker. Rapidly create and modify YAML files using iTest’s GUI and convert those actions into automation using iTest capture/replay. XPath 3.1 Support: Updated support for Xpath in structures and queries.
