Answer

Yes, there are many ways in which you can reduce the number of satellites you simulate. Depending on your scenario you may wish to use either of the following:-

  • Turn off satellites of your choice for the duration of the scenario. This can be done by opening the constellation signal source file (in the scenario tree) > orbits. In here you will see a check box called "present" by un-ticking this box you are removing the satellite entirely. (see screenshot, top)
  • You can select only certain periods of times for the satellites to be off. Again this can be found in the constellation signal source file > Off times. (see screenshot, top)
  • Similarly you can select the user actions file (scenario tree) whereby you can select the "Switch simulated satellites" option in the drop down menu and "ban" particular satellites for designated times. (screenshot, bottom)
  • Alternatively you can go to options>general options. In here you will see there is an option to change the maximum number of simulated satellites. (NOTE: This will be the maximum number of satellites that EACH constellation will simulate, not the total number of satellites that will be simulated) This can also be achieved by opening the "General Options" File located near the top of the scenario tree.
