Positioning Application, SimCHAN: Can software licence (lservrc.txt) file entries be combined into one file?

Environment/Versions
  • PosApp (SimGEN / SimREPLAYplus / SimREPLAY) v2-90 or later
  • SimCHAN v3-00 or later
Answer
  • Yes
    • If the different licence records relate to different simulators ('hardware' licence) or different PC lock codes ('no hardware' licence)
    • If the different simulators are only used standalone (see below)
    • You can copy the licence record from one file and simply paste it to the end of the file which you want to make your single, master file
    • HOWEVER - note that combining the licence records ought really be accompanied by a combined sig_gen.txt file too. For this you should contact Spirent Global Services (see below)
  • No
    • If the different licence records relate to different modes of software for the same simulator or PC lock code
    • If the different simulators are used in a multibox system (see below)

Note On Multibox Systems

  • When two or more simulators are used together to form a multibox system their details must appear in the licence file in a specific order
  • If you have such a system and are thinking of combining its licence records with another licence, please contact Spirent Global Services (see below)
