Abacus: I see a lot of error messages like invalid OPC and DPC after I change the SS7 Configuration. However, after I restart the Abacus application software (GUI), they all go away. What has happened?

Answer

Abacus SS7 has been designed in a such a way that even after a test is stopped, the SS7 links and relations are still maintained.  With this, when users re-start the test, the system will resume testing almost immediately without going through SS7 initialization process.  If users change the SS7 configuration after running a test and restart it immediately, there will be conflict in the original SS7 connection and the newly changed configuration.  Users will see error messages such as invalid SPC (OPC or DPC), invalid CIC and others, depending on the nature of the change.

Solution to this problem: after users make a change in the SS7 configuration, they should save the change, disconnect the System Controllers, close the GUI and restart the Abacus software.  By doing this, the original SS7 data will be overwritten by the new one.
