Positioning Application: Why do I get 'Inconsistent Bulk Logging and HW update rates -- Logging not enabled' in PosApp (SimGEN/SimREPLAY/SimREPLAYplus)

When logging data from within PosApp [Options --> Bulk logging options] or [Scenario tree --> Bulk logging options] you must ensure that you do not choose a speed that is faster than the specified simulation iteration rate [Options --> General Options] or [Scenario tree --> General Options]

For example you could not have a logging rate of 10ms and and iteration rate of 100ms. This is because the iteration rate is how often PosApp updates itself and the attached hardware and it is not possible to log data faster than it is processed.

To overcome this error message you can do the following:-

  1. Set the bulk logging speed to match the simulation iteration rate.
  2. Set the bulk logging rate to be slower than the simulation iteration rate, but ensure that the logging rate is a multiple of the iteration rate. for example, 4ms iteration rate will allow logging rates of 4ms (1x4ms) 8ms (2x4ms) but not 10ms (as 10 isn't a multiple of 4(ms)) The table below shows which logging rates CANNOT be used with each iteration rate.

If you were to avoid using combinations in the above table you would not see the error message 'Inconsistent Bulk Logging and HW update rates -- Logging not enabled'.
