Spirent TestCenter: Why can't I access a MX-10G-S2 module in my 9U (SPT-9000) chassis?
Environment/Versions
Spirent TestCenter
9U
Revision 1 backplane
MX-10G.S2
Answer
This module is not supported in the early versions of the 9U chassis (Version 1 backplane).
You must have a revision 2 backplane.
If you do not, the module may appear to work briefly, but will then become unavailable as the earlier backplanes are not compatible with this module.
To see what backplane you have, go to the Spirent TestCenter application and navigate to, Tools/Equipment/Chassis.
Then move the slider bar to the right and look under "Backplane Version".
If you do not see rev
2
, the chassis does not support the MX-10G-S2 module.
Version 1 chassis can be upgraded to version 2 but not in the field. It must be sent back to Spirent.
