Spirent TestCenter: How to use option "bypass IP subnet checking"?

Environment/Versions
  • Generator
  • Stream block
Answer
  • Creating bound stream, there is an option "bypass IP subnet checking" which the MAC address of the destination will be used in the traffic even if ARP is successful to the gateway. Here is an example about when and how to use this option:
  • Source Device:          MAC=00:00:00:00:00:01, IP address=1.1.1.1, Gateway 1.1.1.254 with MAC=00:10:94:00:00:55
  • Destination Device: MAC=00:00:00:00:00:02, IP address=2.2.2.2, Gateway 2.2.2.254 with MAC=00:10:94:00:00:99

With "bypass IP subnet checking" the bound stream from the above source and destination will use the destination MAC in the traffic. The packet's source MAC is 00:00:00:00:00:01, destination MAC is 00:00:00:00:00:02, source IP address is 1.1.1.1 and destination IP address is 2.2.2.2.
