Spirent TestCenter : Why do I have temperature (sensor) problem on Spirent Testcenter 11U ?

  • Temperature warnings and errors on new either N4U, N11U, N12U chassis. The warnings and errors are swapping within seconds or minutes since starting the equipment ... giving a similar error in attachment (it could vary):

Some possible root causes  we have identified:

  1. Some nearby equipment could be blowing hot air into the front of the chassis, causing the sensor to report overheating alarms.
  2. This could be a software issue causing the sensor(s) to report bad/wrong temperature lectures
  3. Some known issues such as:
    1. KNI16962 Spirent TestCenter: Random temperature alarms intermittently showing in version 5.27
  4. The sensor could be broken/damaged
  5. Hardware issue with the sensor, If the connection between the controller and the sensor is not good, it may read a higher value than the actual temperature or may show as unavailable
