GSS5300

• SimCHAN is the primary software application provided with the GSS5300
• It is supported with SimCHAN v3-00 onwards

GSS6300

• SimCHAN is the primary software application provided with the GSS6300
• GPS and/or GLONASS and/or Galileo capability is supported with SimCHAN v2-02 and SimCHAN v3-00 onwards (see Note 1)
• BeiDou capability is supported from SimCHAN v3-02 onwards

GSS6300M

• SimCHAN is the primary software application provided with the GSS6300M
• You cannot use SimCHAN v2-02
• GPS and/or GLONASS and/or Galileo capability is supported with SimCHAN v3-00 onwards
• BeiDou capability is supported from SimCHAN v3-02 onwards

GSS6700

• SimCHAN is provided for single channel operation only
• PosApp is the primary software application provided with the GSS6700
• For GPS and/or GLONASS and/or Galileo single channel capability it is recommended to use SimCHAN v2.02 (see Notes 2 & 3 below)
• For BeiDou single channel capability you will need SimCHAN v3-02 (see Note 2 & 3 below)

NOTES

1. There is no 'functional' benefit for single channel GSS6300 users (without BeiDou) between SimCHAN v2-02 and v3-00
       - If you have many GSS6300 systems which are regularly moved to different workstations v2-02 is more convenient (see Note 2)
       - Of course the latest software does ensure you benefit from any new features that are added.
    
2. SimCHAN v3-xx requires two new files are installed, which were not necessary with v2-02 (or earlier)
       - sig_gen.txt (hardware configuration that matches the simulator capability). 
       - lservrc.txt (software licence that matches the simulator details).
       - If not present, or the content does not match the connected simulator, SimCHAN will not start (see Note 4)
       - For GSS6700 users, this means you will have two sets of these files (in the Positioning Application  and SimCHAN directories), the sig_gen.txt file is the same, the lservrc.txt file is different.
    
3. For GSS6700 users, SimCHAN v3-xx cannot be run at the same time as PosApp
       - PosApp must first be closed before you start SimCHAN
       - You cannot start the 'Single channel utility' from PosApp menu [Tools-->6700 Utilities]
    
4. Please follow article SOL11089 to ensure SimCHAN v3-00 is correctly configured for use with your simulator.
