GSS6300, GSS6300M, GSS6700: Health LED flashes at 1Hz when starting a scenario run but scenario continues to run

Environment/Versions
  • Beidou supported in software license but not present in hardware
  • GSS6300 or GSS6300M or GSS6700
    • with serial number start "0120" or "0078"
    • running firmware BEFORE v02.03.03
    • running FPGA BEFORE rel 5-00
  • PosApp (SimGEN / SimREPLAYplus / SimREPLAY) v4-03 SR03 onwards
  • SimCHAN v3-02 onwards

Answer
  • PosApp v4-03 SR03 and SimCHAN v3-02 require that the simulator is running the latest version of firmware and FPGA if Beidou constellation is supported.
  • If the unit is using earlier builds of firmware or FPGA then a BITE error will occur when attempting to run the scenario
    • This causes the flashing HEALTH LED
    • querying with the BITE command yields BITE 00000001 00000000 00000000
    • querying with the SERR ? command yields SERR 00000010, Command not recognised MMON

  • At the time of writing the latest firmware and FPGA for a unit with serial number starting "0120" or "0078"
    • Firmware = v02-03-03
    • FPGA = rel 5-00
  • The latest firmware and FPGA are available from the CSC support website for customers with a valid support agreement
    • Go to the "Downloads" tab
    • Select the "GSS6700" or "GSS6300/GSS6300M" category
