Landslide: LNS Node - Does landslide supports PPP LCP echo request in GGSN nodal, SGW nodal or PGW nodal with L2TP ?
Environment/Versions
Landslide 11.8
LNS Node
Answer
In 11.8 release, Landslide does not support to send ECHO request (this is some optional procedure in the RFC 1661), although according to the RFC, Landslide would echo back if it receive an echo request packet from customer DUT, so this is why Landslide has the counters in the reports.
In the RFC there is no limitation about which peer could send the Echo request but is stated as an optional function.
You can see in test reports-> LNS Node -> PPP tab->LCP echo requests/responses
Landslide supports only receiving PPP LCP echo requests from real LNS node towards GGSN Nodal with L2TP. But not with SGW nodal and PGW nodal.
This feature is available in 12.5 GA release : support for sending of PPP LCP echo request in GGSN nodal, SGW nodal or PGW nodal with L2TP
