Spirent Customer Service Center (CSC): How do I remove compatibility mode from Internet Explorer 11 to ensure full functionality of the CSC?

Note: as of early 2016, Microsoft has
ended support for older versions of Internet Explorer

Answer
Compatibility mode is a useful function for certain, usually older Web sites that were designed based on the features in older browsers. Most newer sites do not need this mode any more, and in fact many sites will fail to function properly if used with compatibility mode on, including the Spirent CSC. Here's how to turn it off.
Start up Internet Explorer and click on the Tools gear icon in the upper right, then click Compatibility View Settings
If "spirent.com" appears in the list of Websites you've added, remove it. For Spirent employees, also turn OFF "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View"
Click Close, and you're done!
