Positioning Simulators: What is meant by the term Absolute Accuracy with regards to RF signal level performance?

Environment/Versions
  • All GNSS constellation simulators
Answer
  • Absolute Accuracy: Describes the measured signal level at the RF port compared to the level set in the controller software (Positioning Application).
  • For example: for a GPS L1 C/A code, if you adjust the signal level to +10 dB above the nominal value of -130 dBm, for a simulator with an absolute accuracy of ±0.5 dB the RF power is guaranteed to be -120 dBm ± 0.5 dB.
